Joe LoBasso, AIA, is an Associate and Senior Project Manager with Dougherty + Dougherty, overseeing the day-to-day operations of staff. He has implemented quality control procedures that have raised the standard of quality on project documents sent out to bid. His overall expertise is in school design and construction, and he has been recognized by school districts throughout California. He recently developed design standards, specifications, and BIM guidelines, for the two largest School Districts in California, Los Angeles Unified and Long Beach Unified. He has also spearheaded BIM modeling integration throughout the firm, working with consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design into a working BIM model that is usable by the contractor. Mr. LoBasso has received extensive training on California Green Building Standards Code, CHPS and LEED and trains in-house staff and consultants on building codes, construction technology, and sustainability. Mr. LoBasso’s overarching philosophy is that relationships are the key to success of any project; he actively promotes collaboration between the client, contractor, consultants, sales representatives and vendors.
