UCR’s Fawcett Laboratory provides research laboratories and office space for four teams studying the effects of molds and fungus on plant production. This 8,500 SF facility converts existing warehouse space into an exciting, high efficiency laboratory environment. Designed to encourage interaction between the research teams, each lab provides basic amenities for organic procedures. Environmentally controlled spaces are located along the circulation area with specialized exhaust systems to allow the fumigation and sterilization of the climate rooms without affecting adjacent spaces. The interior circulation spine is enlivened with vertical height, indirect lighting and clerestory windows.
