Juanita Tate Elementary School is a small 7 acre-inner-city site. The high-density design solution consists of: a classroom building over a below grade parking garage; a kindergarten building with adjacent play area; and a multipurpose/kitchen building. In the center of the campus is a secure hard surface play area. The environmental strategies inherent on this design meet CHPS HPI criteria, and conform to the requirements of the LADWP green building program. The site is enhanced by a regulation FIFA turf soccer field as a part of a local community joint-use partnership agreement.
