Through a series of stakeholder workshops the philosophical underpinning, vision and technical criteria for the Life Sciences Building has taken shape. Growing from the faculty’s desire to live inside an environmentally sensitive building, the project is designed to LEED Gold. The design is inherently flexible and inspirational, providing students with a foundation for higher education as well as training. Facilities include laboratory classrooms, conference center, offices and a greenhouse. An outside/in design approach optimizes lab efficiency, creates space for collegial interaction, and defines a campus node for educational collaboration and exploration.
